Concrete Formed Walls has done a wide variety of concrete projects in the Southeastern U.S. We have worked in Tuscaloosa after the tornadoes came through, clearing and rebuilding. We have worked in Montgomery, Birmingham, Pleasant Grove, Prattville, Cordova, and in many of the lake communities in Alabama. We have also worked in Louisiana, Georgia and Florida. The types of work we do include footings, foundations, basements, waterproofing, sea walls, storm shelters, retaining walls, including very large scale commercial projects and also single family homes.

Foundation

Foundations and Footings:

Working from specifications and drawings, we have completed foundations and footings for whole subdivisions, for single homes, for larger commercial projects. It is, of course, necessary to have very stable and lasting foundations in any building situation. We work with other contractors to coordinate foundation work and footing work to fit with the total construction schedule.

Retaining Walls:

We have built retaining walls for large projects - including an 18' tall, 900' long concrete retaining wall for the Galleria in Birmingham. We have built much smaller ones too - all sizes are welcome. Retaining walls are used to create buildable and usable areas in sloped sites. Retaining walls expand parking areas, recreational areas, building areas.

Basements:

Although many projects are slab-on-grade, we also build and waterproof basements. With the topography of central Alabama, many home builders find that walk out basements provide extra space at a very inexpensive price. We know how to build so that water drainage is handled, and waterproofing is applied at construction time to protect your investment. Concrete poured walls are the most stable walls, and add the most value to a building any time a basement is desired.

Waterproofing:

We also do waterproofing in remediation situations, when an existing building needs water protection. Various types of waterproofing are appropriate for various situations. We will evaluate your issue and suggest the best remediation for your water problems.

Sea Walls:

Although very little of Alabama can be said to be seafront, the many lakes and rivers in the state provide recreation, peace and enjoyment. But waterfront property has to be protected from erosion and water damage. We build sea walls for any type of waterfront property. Sea walls can also form the foundation for boat shelters, piers, recreational waterfront shelters, etc.

Storm Shelters:

Recent events in Alabama and the rest of the Southeastern U.S., have made all of us more aware of the dangers that can affect families and individuals if there are no basements or other types of shelters immediately available. Many families who do not have shelters available are now reconsidering, and installing concrete storm shelters. Concrete is one of the most structurally stable materials - least affected by wind and extreme weather.
